US: HACER Presents Former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez with the Simón Bolívar Award

The Hispanic American Center for Economic Research (HACER) presented His Excellency Mr.  Álvaro Uribe Vélez with the Simón Bolívar Award for his “outstanding leadership promoting security, freedom and democracy in Colombia and the Americas.”

One hundred and fifty legislators and representatives of think tanks from the United States, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Venezuela, gathered to celebrate Colombia’s achievements at the unique Great Room of the W Hotel in Washington DC.

During the event, Rep. David Rivera (R-FL), Amb. Otto Reich, Amb. Roger Noriega, Oscar Morales of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, and Mariana Casabianca, a Georgetown University student from Colombia, offered a toast supporting President Uribe’s accomplishments.

The “Freedom, Virtue & Democracy Dinner” was a joined effort of the Hispanic American Center for Economic Research (HACER), the Centro de Pensamiento Primero Colombia (CPPC) and the Center for the Advancement of Freedom and Democracy (CAFD).
